After almost 15 years of general practice, Dr. Aurora pursued his dental specialization with an additional 3 years of FULL-TIME training in Periodontics and Implants at the
University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry, receiving his Masters in Science and a Fellowship at the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in 2009. During his training Dr. Aurora was honoured with numerous awards including the:

After graduation he continued as a clinical instructor for the graduate periodontal graduate students and undergraduate dental students as well as working in a private periodontal practice. In 2011, Dr. Aurora relocated back home to Edmonton to practice Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. While continuing to teach at the University of British Columbia in the graduate periodontal program, he has also established a presence teaching at the University of Alberta Dental School and the Dental Hygiene programs as well as mentoring numerous dental study groups.
